Chefs for Humanity and Action Against Hunger announce Global Hunger Awareness Campaign

Chefs for Humanity hosts ART OF FOOD during the National Restaurant Association Show to raise support for charitable 2006 celebrity chef projects
(Chicago, Ill.) - Chefs for Humanity hosts the Art of Food event on May 21, 2006 at the Art Institute of Chicago from 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. during the National Restaurant Association Show. This event promotes and supports the organizations worthwhile celebrity chef projects for 2006 including emergency and humanitarian aid projects, hunger mission work and nutritional education projects. This special fundraiser and media event features four amazing galleries of artworks. All of the artworks will be created by nationally and/or regionally recognized chefs including Chefs for Humanity President Cat Cora and Chef Council members Ming Tsai, Art Smith, Robert St. John, Joanne Boundy, Grant MacPherson, Charlie Ayers and Gale Gand. Other well known chefs participating in the event include the Two Hot Tamales, Mary Sue and Susan, Todd English, Martha Foose and many more. Famous tennis celebrities compete off the court and in the kitchen for two important causes
April, 2006 – Celebrity Tennis Cooking Competition
Famous tennis celebrities compete off the court and in the kitchen at Bosse Sports Stadium on April 29th near Boston. Chefs for Humanity President Cat Cora and charter Chef Council member Ming Tsai will be leading teams of the tennis pros who make it into the semi-finals and finals at the upcoming tennis competition. Some of the celebrities that might be competing include John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Mats Wilander, Pat Cash, Aaron Krickstein, and Goran Ivanisevic. This exciting event will benefit Chefs for Humanity and the Bosse Foundation. TV Diner’s Billy Costa will emcee the event. Bob Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, Cam Neely, NHL Hall of Fame member, and Ted Johnson, CBS4 Boston/Former New England Patriot will be the three culinary judges. More (PDF)
Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund
March 21, 2006 - To support the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund,
Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, chaired a special fundraising event on
March 15, 2006 at the University Club in Jackson, MS. Food Network Iron Chef
and Chefs for Humanity Founder Cat Cora proudly emceed the event that raised
over $100,000.
In addition to an esteemed list of guests, notable individuals including
best selling author of the Sweet Potato Queens® series of books, Jill Conner
Browne, award-winning screenwriter Randall Wallace (Braveheart, Pearl
Harbor, etc.), and football great Archie Manning also attended. Read the
